It is very easy to grow and bloom like complex hybrids generally are.

If you are successful (not just keeping them alive but grow them well and have abundant bloom each year) with phalaenopsis or oncidiums, you will do just fine with these types of paphs as well.

They take bright indirect light and some sun is fine depending on the latitude you live in and the season and the time of the day....

You want to water them well especially while they are actively growing during the warmer months and when growing buds and flowering like any plants.

So good light and good watering, simple as that!

They will usually bloom around mid winter but can bloom any time before or after.

If it only was that easy...

I got it for $34. They had soo many!!!

I have mottled paph Hsinying Ruby Red Jenny. It bloomed two years in a row. Last summer it made 2 keikis and has not bloomed. Potted in spag as had been. It spent a month outside in cooler temps, which i had not done before. What could be up?

Paphiopedilums do not have keikis. It's most often used to refer to the plantlets born off of phalaenopsis and dendrobiums. For paphs, you call those new grows "fans".

Maybe it was frozen?

The hybrid you have does not like cool temperature very much at all.
When did it flower last?

I live in new orleans so when it was outside for that month it was prob high70-low 80 daytime and mid 50's at night. It bloomed last spring and by now last year i could see the spike forming. I see in my notes that for some reason i repotted it in fresh moss when i brought it in. Maybe i am just being too anxious?

Does your plant look good overall?
Then, you really don't have to worry and just have to wait and see what it does.

Given the name, I believe yours is dark colored maudiae type hybrid with mottled leaves.
They are many crosses like that. Perhaps yours reads as "Hysinying Rubyweb X callosum 'Jenny' or 'Hilo Fire' of sort.
These do not need to go in the 50s, although it won't kill the plant, it won't like it at all.
I never leaves mine go under 60s.

With the bulldogs, like the one pictured by the thread starter, can take night low of mid 50s and actually do well with that setting.

This may not be helpful, but in case it is, here's how I grow my paphs. I'm not going to claim I am an expert, and that I have it all figured out, but for the average paph, my care seems to work quite well. Feel free to adapt it to your needs as you see fit.

First, the vast majority of my paphs fall into two categories: Parvisepalum and Multiflorals. The multiflorals are placed in spots on my light shelves where they get the most light. I grow under T8 fluorescent shop lights. The multies are within 4 - 6 inches of the bulbs, other paphs are up to 12 inches away.

I use mostly the same basic mix for all my orchids. It is rockwool based, and mostly inorganic. I water reliably twice a week. The water quality is usually quite good since I rely heavily on RO and rain water, with only very weak additions of fertilizer and supplements.

The majority of paph species I've grown, and especially the hybrids, will grow year round if conditions are right. Typically this means appropriate light and temperatures are needed to support growth. There are some, though, that benefit from drops in night tempatures to help initiate blooms. My temps are naturally a bit cooler at night in the winter, but nothing exceptional. This means paphs are likely to do well with indoor temps worldwide.

It's good to keep in mind that many paphs will only bloom once every 1 to 2 years, so a bit of patience is needed to appreciate these plants.
