Trigonidium ergertonianum advice! Male
Question Trigonidium ergertonianum advice!

Hi Everyone,

I'm excited to be posting again. I found this Trigonidium at Paxton Gate for a very cheap price because it was out of bloom, but I am having a little trouble finding a lot about the care of the plant, so I need your help.

I'm concerned that the plant may be sick in some way, (which is why it may have been so cheap). It had two flower spikes, and today, I just lost a bud. I live in San Francisco, and I'm wondering if it gets too cold at night. I know that they're intermedite/hot growers. I've been keeping it by an open window near my Cattleya, which loves the space. I keep the window cracked to circulate the air, because I don't want the air to get stagnant. I also read about Trigonidiums in Botanica's book on orchids because I was considering re-potting my Triginidium. However, Botanica says that some species "do not tolerate being disturbed."

Any tips or suggestions? I'm more than happy to hear. I am just hoping that I don't lose the second bud! It would be really exciting for me to see it bloom.

I'll post pictures of the orchid below so you all can see. it has some black spots that don't seem to be good...

Default

Try keeping the orchid further away from the crack in the window.

They are Maxillaria relatives.

These like quite a bit of moisture.

Moderately bright indirect light.

Moderate to high humidity.
