Rescue NoIDs - PROGRESS

Hi Im new to orchids but not to the love of plants lol

My Mom also loves plants in general, but has murderous streak when it comes to orchids.

I rescued these NoIDs from her

I know one is a Brassavola Nodosa (not shown) because I actually saw it in bloom sometime in early December he was happy and had no idea what was in store

This was how I found them a week ago







and here they are today







Im slowly cutting away the dead roots, the ones that survived are directly on the mounting or have grown into the mounting

I had them by a bright window inside while they were plumping up, soaked them twice a day.

now they've graduated to my sunny patio outside with my other orchids (vandas/ vandacious types)

Lol thanks ... I was shocked myself. The plumping was evident after about 2 days I didn't trust my eyes so I started taking pictures of them.

I felt so sorry for those poor shriveled pseudobulbs. Now to get them to bloom. They all have evidence of old spikes so I know they are of blooming size.

Fantastic results, orchid Doc ...Ahh, the sunny Jamaica, you can keep your orchids outside all year 'round, just thinking about it puts me in a dreamy state.

That's some super speedy recovery you've managed there. I honestly don't know what to say. Just, well done. Again.

Here is an update on my recues

the braughtonias are in spike there are 3 in total and have a ton of new shoots

also the brassavola has sent out many new shoots and roots

I put a layer of sphagnum moss around the roots and I soak them every weekend ... I try to spritz most days when I get home

cant wait to see what the blooms look like !!!
