Greetings!
New to forum and sooo glad I found you. I have what I think is a neglected Dendrobium. I started to give it attention and a little fertilizer and to my surprise it has put out a 6 inch flower spike with tiny buds forming. How should I treat this orchid to keep the spike growing and forming the flowers? It is located in a cool window with day temps around 56 degrees fahrenheit and night temps around 50....due to current outside temps of a frigid 9 degrees.
It has been at least 4 years since this plant bloomed. It was an unidentified pass along plant who now seems happy.
Please help me coax it into flower and then maybe we can identify my mystery orchid.
Thanks in advance for kind replys
Ayla
After you have a few more posts you will be able to attach a photo which will aid in the ID of your plant. Right now, if it is a Dendrobium, it is difficult to give you culture info as there are several types of Dendros, all with different cultural requirements.
