The bellina and violacea are often mounted as they do not like getting water in the crown and do not grow upright in nature. I grow my Phals in LECA and basket pots. The pots are set in plastic food storage containers for extra humidity. My amabilis came mounted and the roots are just everywhere so it is going to stay that way.
Good luck!
Okay, I've completely removed the moss and rinsed it all off....looks like I have some bad roots? Any tips on what to cut and what to keep?
For now I've been keeping it inside this terrarium until I figure out what to do....misting it daily.
I could mount it to that stick in the corner...it used to have a haraella retrocalla mounted to it but .....I killed it
I was hoping the terrarium would keep the temp and the humidity up.

It is in decent shape so just keep it really warm (70'F-80'F) and in a humid environment (as you are suggesting) and it should start growing new roots. If you mount it, mount it so that it leans slightly downward, so that water doesn't sit in the crown.
My mistake with the seedlings of these was not adding the extra warmth when temperatures dropped.
Good luck and keep us posted! I really hope yours will fully recover!
