Some mystery plant indeed...the leaf that was stuck was a small leaf from an overhanging night blooming jasmine

Call me crazy, but after I'd realized I DIDN'T have some weird natural occurrence going on I began to wonder what would happen if one made a tiny incision in a growing leaf and dabbed a little keiki paste or some other rooting hormone compound on it ... probably nothing - or something disastrously bad I'm guessing - but the thought crossed my mind
