Green little watery circles on the surface of the soil???!!!!
Can someone please help me out?
I got my first orchid last year and have been hooked since. Once it stopped blooming I cut the spike down and have kept it watered and in a bright window since. Today I noticed three little green spheres ( about 1/4" diameter) on the top of the soil by my orchids. I picked one up and inspected it. It popped in my hand and it was gushy wet on the inside.
What is it? Is it produced by the plant or is it a pest egg?
Sounds to me like a fungus growth (as in mushroom). They can thive in a moist, warm environment. It doesn't necessarily mean a plant disease that could attack your orchid. Try removing the rest of them without popping them, as this could release more of the spores, and let the medium dry out a bit more.
