Palms with orchids at my new house...
Hi Guys Finally finished moving! Whew! What a hassle, still unpacking though and every arthritic bone is yelling
The last owner was also an orchid lover. So I have inherited two orchids that are firmly attached each to two palm trees in the front.
They get direct hot sun all day, and look a little burned. I have taken to spraying them with water every day but I don't know what kind these are and if I should just leave them be.
Can anyone identify them? and what would be their care?
Thanks a million for any info!

Hard to tell from the photos, but I'm guessing something in the oncidium alliance.
Unfortunately, knowing that it's in the oncidium alliance isn't extremely helpful since it's a big group of genera, species, and hybrids and there's quite a bit of variance in how these plants like to grow.
Maybe one or both of your plants will bloom soon, then you can post photos of the flowers and maybe get a little more accurate identification.
Good luck!

Thanks Mr Happy! I am just so amazed that they have withstood the heat of the blazing sun shining on them all day!
I think I may just spray a little fertilizer solution on them and see how they react
Hehehe, I can't wait for them to bloom. I was searching for more info but have not happened upon that detail about the possible time of blooming.

Most of my Oncidiums bloom after a new growth has matured. You could inspect it and see if there are small new growths at to the moment and if no small ones, it could be that the latest ones are just maturing. In that case it could bloom soon. A number of mine are in spike now, but you are in a different part of the world, so hard to day when they will bloom.

Thanks Silken, I will take a look and see what I can see . I have two oncidiums (Spiders), and they are also in spike, so I hope. I hope!
My neighbor said that she thinks they are called 'Golden Rain' and are small yellow flowers but she has never seen them in bloom so it's not a sure thing.

The first picture looks like a Brassocattleya, and the second is definitely an Oncidium. They will be fine with you watering them daily.

Oh Gage I hope so! Those Brassocattleyas are so beautiful!
I'm going to continue watering every day then to see if the burnt looking one gets greener. I was even thinking of getting/making some kind of shield type thing that I could attach to the palm sort of like an umbrella type thing Something small, not too visible, just to shield it somewhat from the sun. My brain gears are turning ;D

Gage, with the phone compass it registers as 220*SW the sun sets to the right of the door. It just streams through the living room windows and I have to shut the blinds.
