Default Hello from Montauk NY

Hello everyone

My name is Richie. I have been inspired and decided to try my hand at growing orchids by a picture/ person/ setup I saw a few weeks ago. Here is a link to one of those pictures by a person named Mikael

Here is a little about my hurdles I am going to have to jump to do this.

My girlfriend and I with our 3 large dogs live in a small 450 sq ft apt with my 65 gal reef tank. so needless to say I have zero room to grow orchids but other then no room my apartment stays between 62-72 degrees with a humidity between 35% and 75% and the humidity and temp will fluctuate rapidly a few times a day. If we are cooking or just open the bathroom door the humidity could/will bump up to 75% and if the door is open to let the dogs out or if the apartment is too warm the temp can go from mid 70's to 60 in like 3 min. So with that said I think I am going to try and build some type of wall mounted scape to grow mini orchids on. The setup will need some type of lighting system since our only windows face west and north. It may also need to be enclosed in glass to keep from having the temps/humidity fluctuate to much.
So hello again and thanks for taking the time to read this and any info or thoughts would greatly be appreciated.
Oh on a side note I have a spider orchid and a masdevallia Dean Haas ‘Jake’ x Maui Gold hybrid atm.
