whats your Favorite orchid and why?
I have a few orchids now. Its hard for me to pick my fav. I think I might still be a phalaenopsis fan. I just love their simplistic beauty. Second would be the Zygos. They are so cool looking and I love the leaves.
So what are your Favorite orchids? Top 2 and why?
Show photo too if you want.
my Fav Phal I own.
My Fav Zygo I have.

Favorite orchid hands down for me is neostylis (Vanda) Lou Sneary 'Fuchs ocean spray' I love it because it's so fragrant and perfect looking! My second is Rhynchorides 'Bangkok sunset M' , which my plant won an award for at a local orchid show, which I love because it looks like a sunset and the flowers cluster so nicely on a spike! The fragrance is also amazing!

My favourite right now is my Paphiopedilum Michael Koopowitz:
In about a month or two, it'll be my Den normanbyense when it flowers with most of its spikes.
Come back in a year or two, and I've probably changed favourite again.

whats your Favorite orchid and why?
My favorite orchids are Neofinetia Falcata and Phalaenopsis.
There are numerous reasons why Neofinetia are my favorite:
1. The plant is appreciable when not in bloom.
2. There are all kinds of varieties from long leaves to short stubby leaves.
3. The plants come in solid green and variegated.
4. The flowers are fragrant.
5. The flowers are usually white, but you can get green, red, yellow flowers.
6. The plant has history being cultivated as far back as the 1600's.
7. They are small and hardy.
My second favorite orchid is Phalaenopsis. You have experience with Phals. Phals were my first orchid plants. I learned a lot about growing them.

Mutant, those pictures are incredible! Wow! I have to admit, I am always very partial to those that are in bloom. Still, that is quite a show!
Matt, I just love the pictures of your Neos. As you say, they are very enjoyable even when out of bloom.

I agree Leafmite, Mutant's flowers are beautiful! I cannot grow these plants.
Thank you for your kind words regarding my Neofinetia!

My favorites
My absolute favorites are Miltoniopsis. I don't really know how to rebloom them, but I love 'em. I love the big pansy flowers, I also love pansys in my garden in summer, so that makes sense. I think my second favorite bloom is the Paphs. Especially the ones with the big blooms. I guess I just like big flowers. they show up better than the smaller ones. I like the Den Nobiles for the same reason, however I have been unable to get them to rebloom at all.

Reblooming Den nobile and hybrids:
- Winter rest: do not fertilize at all, water once a month or less.
- Drop temperatures down to 50 F - 55 F at night, and do not let it get warmer than 75 F during the day in the winters.
If the above doesn't work, then it may be a light issue, (not enough light).
How are you growing your Miltoniopsis?

My favourites
1. Disa uniflora, they are very beautiful and they have a stunning red flower. Largest orchid flower in SA
2. Although I can't grow them I absolutely love the bartholinas, hope I find some one day.
