I have the 'honour' of having an orchid which came with a slug snuggling in the roots... I hope I managed to get rid of any potential baby slugs, didn't find any more than that single adult one (means nothing what with them being hermaphrodites and all) and it hadn't caused that much damage to the roots yet.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both our plants staying snail/slug free!

Update:

With summer come and gone, those growths pictured earlier withered away with no roots to support them, but this one is very persistant; grew out two new pbs (with more on the way), initiated some healthy root action, and maybe it will spike... in a couple of years, lol. I better get it right, 'cause my daughter is watching me like a hawk .
