New additions!
I found more orchids at Trader Joe's! I found a yellow oncidium, an orange catt, and a variegated phal (Dtps. Sogo Vivien). I also bought a Phal. Schilleriana and a Phal. Equestris on eBay that came infested with mealybugs. Hopefully someone can provide an ID for the oncidium and the catt, but that's probably impossible.

Love the cattleya! Very beautiful finds, I have found some great orchids at trader joe's recently and they are always healthy when I unpot them. I am sorry to hear about your phals with mealy bugs that is awful! They are very hard to get rid of in my experience.

Thank you! I have found mealybugs harder to eradicate than scale and lost most of my collection to a mealybug infestation while I was on vacation. The seller was kind enough to offer a full refund, but I opted for a partial refund to cover the cost of purchasing a systemic, though I am now having second thoughts based on my past experiences. If anyone wants to sell me a pest-free Phal. Equestris, please send me a PM

I didn't have too many problems getting rid of them, but I have never had an out and out infestation. I've seen one or two mealybugs, here and there.
I used Bayer rose and flower. Once weekly for six weeks. Isolate the infected plants from the rest of your collection, in another part of your house. Worked great!

I actually like that Catt, and I'm no Catt fan. God, I wish my Sogo Vivien variegated was as well grown as yours. I really need to get a new one, instead of the runt I have (it was a runt when I got it, and it has kept on being one).
I've only had mealybugs on one orchid, and they were fairly easy to get rid of (but as the previous poster said, I've never had an infestation). Mites, false ones, however... That's a whole different issue.

Looks like Onc. Sweet Sugar and Rth. Ahchung Yoyo. I have a feeling the cattleya's blooms didn't open properly, maybe because it was during shipping. When the Catt blooms again, see if the blooms look like the clone 'Little Goldfish'.

By the way, if it is anything like my Ahchung Yoyo it is like most bifoliates and doesn't like to be repotted. So DO NOT repot until it is putting out new roots, and whenever you do repot do it very carefully so as not to disturb the living roots. After I VERY carefully repotted this one, it took a good year to recover.

Well it sounds like the equestris is one of your favorites, if that is the case you can rid them. It took about 6 or more months on my phal using pesticide and alcohol dabbing them, repotting ... I was determined to rid them. After 2 or 3 months of not seeing them I put it back with my collection and haven't seen any since!
