OK I will just let it be and force myself to not get toooo apprehensive!
Since I cut its stems it didn't show any signs of new growth :s
Maybe I disturbed it too much.
How long do you think it will take to get over the 'shock' and growing new roots?

Sorry to hear about your Phal. I can't grow my Phals in just bark like that because they dry out too quick and I'm not up for watering ALL of them that often. I can see your roots aren't too happy as you've described. Are they hollow and squishy? Or just sort of brown? They should be silvery green and then turn green when they're watered. Right now - winter - if I can see the roots are green and not white/silvery I won't water. If those roots are squishy you should cut them off, cut them back to where they're not squishy. Then you might be able to judge from how many or few roots you have if it needs a smaller pot and perhaps even more of a mixture of media. There's plenty of mixes out there with lava rock, bark, moss, perlite, charcoal, etc.

Phals don't freak out if they dry out between waterings so in your case it might not hurt to go ahead and let it dry before you water again. Then maybe you'll get a handle on what your plant needs in your conditions. If you start to see new roots growing then you're doing something right!

Good luck, keep us posted, oh and keep reading around on here to find better advice. There's a lot of information on how to care for Phals. Go to The Phal Abuse Ends Here.

Thank you so much for the advice! I'll let it dry more, and then water it and see what happens!
I think I may have dried them with cinnamon powder...and then added water and became sort odf mushy...
It's so frustrating to realize u may be killing your beloved plant!
Here in Italy there's not many mediums either biiig bags of bark or....bark lol
Or u cn buy the orchid compost but I don't know how good it is, its only €3..
I'll keep you posted!

Hi everyone, the poor thing had to be repotted again as my mom mistakingly knocked it off....anyway, I bought another mix but I'm not too excited about it because the bark is smaller and it has a lot of fibers..I added some expanded clay and boiled it. I dipped the roots in some water & hydrogen peroxide.
That's how it looks now. How long would it take to shoot out new roots?

It just depends. It has had allot of re-potting so just let it be for a bit it might wait awhile I'm not really sure. The roots at the bottom look ok so hope for the best. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you! That's my first orchid and I would be very sad to lose it...especially when I suspect I may have messed it up with cinnamon
