Substrate question

So if I wanted to grow my orchid bare root (permanently) and just fertilize a lot could I? If so, how? According to google phaleonopsis orchids grow on rocks and trees in the wild, so why not do the same thing at home?

You can!

Check out the section called Growing on Mounts.

I'm sure there are other sections that discuss this, do a search using "mount" as the key word.

Couple of thoughts to consider: we pot plants for our convenience and mounting plants should be done when new roots are emerging.
