I tell you straight, here we have a REAL problem with rats. There are no squirrels, the rats are quite arboreal, and very smart. They get trap shy really quickly, and the tricks you have to get up to are really complex.
One thing it that all traps have to be in tunnels, as if they come at them from the side, because they are so fast, the trap jaws throw them out of the trap.
I have tried those traps you showed for rats, but they really don't work well.
I had the same trap sprung this morning, so either this mouse is dumb, or it's another one, or this trap self springs.

I think the ones that get away by licking peanut butter are the little ones. That is what I caught when I used the nutragous, a very small mouse.

Thank you. I ike them too. I had 5 that were promising a flower, but three of the sheaths died, and one is still in sheath. I am hoping it will come good, as it was the best one I bought!

I just bought a bunch of Catts. I think they are interesting the way they grow with the new shoots taller than the old ones . I like the cute pseudobulbs and the beautiful flowers. I hope I am lucky enough to keep my plants healthy and get some future blooms.

You and me both. I am currently overwintering mine in the woodshed, but it is really awkward. I'm starting on building a PROPER greenhouse with plenty of space.

Nice to get a greenhouse. You may want to put some mouse/rat bait in your woodshed. I put that bait that has blood thinner in corn in my barns every year to keep the population under control. They sell it everywhere here, even in grocery stores here. My dogs do not have access to these areas and I put it in places where just the mice can get it. Traps are good but for control in a place like a woodshed I would use bait too.

I have had to use bait at times but I really hate the cruel, painful way they die. We had to kill a rat in the attic last year and it was the only practical way to do it in the awkward space. We had to listen to it a long time before it died.
