Oncidium twinkle keeps growing but no flower spikes

Hello everyone! Hope this message/questions find you in good spirits.
So I bought an oncidium twinkle in January from an orchid show in San Francisco. After the flowers all fell and the spikes turned brown I cut them, repotted the oncidium in bark and ever since then the new growth kept coming. This is my first oncidium so I don't know exactly what to expect but I'm getting alittle worried because the new Pseudobulbs that started growing about 6 months ago are already starting to grow new growths ( Pseudobulbs not flower spikes). Does this mean that they won't flower because they instead decided to grow new bulbs? Am I doing something wrong to initiate growth instead of spikes?

if the plant is growing, it is healthy. sometimes you have to wait a while before it flowers.

Is it getting enough light? Are you feeding it?

I don't know if this is typical but mine only blooms if grown in cooler conditions. I grow mine under lights in the basement where temps don't exceed 75f in Summer and 65f in Winter. I only get about 2 spikes though, but at least its better than none when I grew it warmer.


just checked again......now have 5 spikes. 2 are 6in + long and another 3 are just starting.

Mine is flowering but stingy with the new growths. Not sure which is worse. (It was a rescue plant, but that was 3 yrs ago now.)

I just started putting a light on my oncidium twinkle during the day and I also open the window at night to get the temp to drop about 10degrees. I water it when I think it's getting dry. Does it need winter rest?

My twinkle had spikes that doubled back where they came from. I think it is a humidity issue because several of my oncidiums did it.

this doesn't need winter rest.
Both species parents flower mainly Oct through Feb - this is the time in other words - so you may get spiking triggered with the lower temps. Please let us know what happens with yours.

Mine had a few blooms over summer. Now I am seeing more spikes. Mine does get cooler nights, winter and summer and I am forced to give it cooler temps in winter as the greenhouse is cooler. Not sure if that has anything to do with the spikes it is getting tho.

My oncids (including 1 twinkle) are on a window sill where they get lots of sun (when the sun is shining, we've had a lot of cloudy days) with a rise in temps during the day, but nights are about 63 to65 F at night and I have a sherry baby in flower and a twinkle in spike.
