Default Is this a keiki & should I repot it?

The part on the right is the older/original plant that I brought back to life. While I was giving it lots of kelp extract about a year go, the left part sprouted. Is that a keiki? Should I separate it from the original plant? (will post 2nd pic as well)

I wouldn't attempt to separate a basal keiki.

So any babies at bottom of phal or paph is a keiki? Then any additional plantlets growing from the main one is a keiki, like dend that send out babies at the base. I just assumed that it was multiplying and could be separated. Isnt that what you do with oncidium, catts, etc?

Phals are monopodial, growing upwards - new growth from the base are basal keikis and aren't on a rhizome, making them difficult to remove or separate without likely damaging the keiki or parent.

Paphs, Onc, Dens, Catts are sympodial, growing outwards along / from the rhizome - the growth from the rhizome are not keikis, but rather how the plant grows, getting new growth at predictable intervals.

Paphs are a bit different. I don't know the technical terms, but each growth on a paph only flowers once. Each of the new growths will flower then just be there to support the newer growths while they mature and flower. You want to leave the growths on a paph together.
