Spots and droopiness on Vuyl. Enzan Fantasy
Question Spots and droopiness on Vuyl. Enzan Fantasy

So this plant and I have been going rounds ever since I got it. I was an under waterer (for fear of being an over waterer) so the pbulb got kinda shriveled shortly after I got it and I have never been able to plump it back up. I also repotted it in medium that was too big. However now it is in coconut husk and I water it what should be plenty. Roots look great, but the rest of the plant is all droopy. Now it has spots which for a while I have passed off as no big deal because some oncidiums get spotty, but I am wondering if it has something else going on. It sits on a shelf with other oncidium types and none of them are having the problems its having. What do you guys think?

How are you watering? Spraying the leaves or only on the roots? Spots are from fungus, very common with Onc. alliance plants. Don't get any water drops on the leaves.

You won't improve existing leaves and pbulbs, but the new ones should look better.

Edit: just noticed that you have it in a ceramic glazed pot. Some glazing may be toxic to plants. If you see root tips turn brown as soon as they touch the pot, repot into something non-toxic. Terracotta pots are great, oncidiums like cooler conditions. You will have to water more often.

When I water its in the sink running water though the pot, however to raise humidity I do spray the orchid area every day so that would get water on the leaves. I have had other oncidium types with pbulbs that shrivel and then plump back up so I guess I was expecting that could happen with this one. This does have new growth so we will see how that looks. I haven't had any problems with root tips turning brown but I will keep an eye out for that. Thanks!
