When was it last potted and how are the roots? I use only med. bark for my Catts but they are in plastic pots with very good drainage and air holes. If the roots are minimal or dead, they can be shrivelling no matter how much you water them. I like to make sure my Catts are dry or very close before watering again. I place a bamboo kebab skewer down into the media and check it to see if it is wet before watering. Sometimes the top part of the pot is dry but not the bottom and if watered too soon, root rot occurs.
They will still put out a new growth if they have enough energy and hopefully the new roots will remain healthy and sustain the plant. The leathery leaves may or may not plump up again.
