Advice on Vyul Home spun sprite
Default Vyul Home spun sprite

Hi!

I have "kept" Orchids almost all my life. But never successfully. Mostly just random ones i pick up from homedepot, i was never able to rebloom any of them and most of them has died.

Recently i decided to make orchid keeping a serious hobby rather than a random plant in my house. I picked up a few orchids online.

Sadly, there are barely any information out there =(... If anyone can help that would be amazing.

One is labeled Vuvl. Home spun sprite "sapphire seduction" Its currently in a 2.5 inches square plastic pot with drain holes on the bottom. Its planted in sphagnum moss.

Should i repot it in a bigger pot? and should i keep it in sphagnum moss or move it to bark? How much light should it get?

This is pretty basic but I find the intergenerics are fairly easy grow.

I would wait until you see new root growth starting and then move it to bark. Using sphag in most home environments doesn't work out so well. It tends to keep the plants too wet.

yes, for the home, you will want to repot it after it starts a new growth, which when about 2 or 3 inches tall will put out new roots.

Regarding orchids in general, and repotting time:

New Roots = repotting time if you need to.

No new roots = likely to be set back, and fail.

Take care
Hope I helped.
