Orchid won't bloom..Please Help

I have an orchid that just doesn't want to bloom. Here is a it's situation:

I saved it from a trash can at work about 2 years ago. It was close to death, but after being potted it has done very well. It is a phael, as far as I can tell. It has 6-8 leaves, all very nice and green. It has a good amount of air roots, and seems quite healthy, but it has not bloomed in the 2 years I have had it.

I have 4 other orchids in the same area, another phael that I have had with it is on it's third bloom since I bought it. the others are much newer.

Any ideas on why it will not bloom?

Do you fertilize it? It might just be that the whole thing was horribly shocking and it just needs to come to its senses. I would be patient. It's been probably too abused...glad you saved it.

I did that with an olive tree and it is thriving in my living room.

Some Phaleanopsis need a little drop in temperatures (which occur naturally for me in the autumn). Others need more light to bloom. Some are very easy bloomers and need no special care at all. How exactly are you growing them?

It is in an eastern facing window sill. So it gets a good amount of morning sun and then indirect sun through the afternoon. I live in southern louisiana, and i turn my AC up during the day. So it was getting around a 10-15 degree temp drop at night.

The other orchids have been blooming, just not this one.

That is strange. It sounds like you are doing everything right. Perhaps it just needs a little more time to have enough of a chill. Some of mine haven't spiked yet, but they will once winter comes and the windowsills are cooler.

ya i know it will bloom eventually. I just really want to figure out what it is going to look like. I am guessing that it will have larger flower since its leaves are bigger than any of the rest of the orchids that i have. No idea what color they will be though

I hope it's a nice colour. Whenever I get a free one it is almost always white, and I don't like white. Too many years of dealing with snow in Ontario, I guess,

It just isn't ready yet.
Given your description, your growing conditions are good and you obviously do well with other orchids.

You said this phal was near death condition.
I am nursing myself a phal. Two years past. no flowering and I did not expect it.

Give it another year or two and I'm sure it will flower then.
