Default Greenhouse roof material.

OK, the (improved - aka bigger) greenhouse plans are coming along.

I'd appreciate feedback please. I simply can't get glass here. So my choice for the roof is down to two types of corrugated plastic sheet. One is a clear glass fibre sheet that knocks the light down by about 40%, and a slightly bluish clear plastic that looks as tho it would let thru a bit more light.

Which would your choice be and why please?

My choice was the acrylic glass 'Alltop' because of high permeability for ultraviolett light combined with good thermal insulation.
For less insulation two layers of a strong plastic sheet are a good solution, but the gap in between must be inflated permanently. Eventually you can take bubble wrap. Depends on your priority.

No, I am stuck with a rigid corrugated roof. Good point on the permeability of UV. Is that important with orchids?

I am profoundly convinced of the importance of uv-light, at least here at nearly 50° northern latitude.
