Help - Drac. Simia dropping leaves
Default Help - Drac. Simia dropping leaves

I got my Drac. Simia back in June and over the last three weeks, it has lost half or more of its leaves. They turn brown at the bottom and dry up and fall off.

It is in a terrarium in sphag and a plastic mesh pot. Watered with distilled water, not in direct sunlight.

It has small brown dots on leaves that come off when rubbed gently so Im thinking that's fruit fly poo, not any kind of disease. The only signs I have are that the leaves turn brown at the bottom and fall off. Seemingly healthy leaves.

Sounds like it could be temperature related to me. Draculas generally like it cooler. I keep my Lotax under 79 degrees and dracula lotax is more warmth tolerant than others. If temps are warmer than the 70s in there, suspect that's what's wrong.

Small brown spots could also be scale.

I agree with RandomGemini. The temps may be too warm. Is there air movement in the terrarium? Dracs need plenty of air movement. If you have fruitflies in there, you probably don't have enough air moving in the terrarium.

Fruit flies were from when I didn't have it in a terrarium. I will try cooler temps. It has gotten cooler in my area lately so hopefully it'll perk up
