Default phalaenopsis without a crown but possibly healthy roots

Hello all,

I got a new one. Was visiting my Dad and discussing semi-hydroponics and going threw his recycle bin for possible plastic pot potentials. Well he gives me this dried up phal that was sitting in a pot outside. The last flower had just fallen off. But then I notice the lack of missing leaves!! Oh no, i think. I really see the beauty and lusciousness off the roots. I soaked it in water with some Superthrive, i sprayed some hydrogen peroxide and it's hanging upside down. I planning to pot it in netted hydroponics basket (only if i get some positive feedback. Otherwise i probably won't give up,but just use a recycled bottle :-) I'm not sure if I'm being tested by the orchid Gods, but I'm dealing with 1 possibly dead rooted dendrobium and 1 crown rooted Phal over 1 weekend. Hmmppp.
Thanks in advance for any answers

Cut the spikes of the Phalaenopsis and repot it. Hopefully it grows new leaves since the roots are not dead.
Dendrobiums have fine sensitive roots they will sulk for a couple of years and don't flower if you break most of the roots= (assuming the canes are not yet dead) expose them to bright light and humid environment (bare root) by your windowsill .... wait for the new roots to come out then pot it.
