Hello, welcome and congrats for the flowers for your first post. It is a Cymbidium hybrid. They like to be grown outside during summer, when they are fond of water and fertilizer. Before freezing you better take it inside and keep it with less water at about 10°C. Flowers may last up to 3 months on a strong plant.

Hello & Welcome (back?)!

I don't have any myself but I too recognize it to be some Cymbidium hybrid, very pretty. What a lovely surprise that must have been for you! Good job.

I would like more information on this type of orchid also... I've had mine for a few years and it hasn't reflowered for me
yet. A local nursery advised me to report in a mixture of soil, bark and moss. I find it takes forever to dry out after watering so it only gets watered about every 3 weeks. I use a moisture meter to tell when it is approaching the low end of moist before watering any more. I fertilize each time I water since it is so infrequent. Another thing, I didn't realize that the bulbs were an important part of the olant and removed the ones that didn't have "grass" growing from them. Later, I read that plant energy is stored in these bulbs. I basically know nothing about these orchids but thought I would share my experiences for other to comment on and or us both to learn from...
