I grow Zygos too. Love them so much! When I first got them in bloom, I placed them indoors by my west facing window. After the blooms fell, I repotted and saw just how actively growing the roots are. It is a bit of a space hog due to its big leaves.
Eventually I found a way to grow it outdoors, inside my growcamp. It gets frequent watering in my area, since it is very dry here and we go into triple digit temps during summer. I get my blooms during Spring, and it stays in my growcamp now year round, since I can always pull down the plastic foil to protect it during some awkward hard freeze nights during winter.
I treat this plant like an Oncidium, loves water a lot. Too bad the leaves, it just gets those specks..but I have learned to live with it..it is what it is.
