Update on Stubby
Default Update on Stubby

I gave up on Stubby. He stopped growing after being potted and never picked back up. The growing tip on the roots kept shrinking so I pulled him out of the pot and the base of the new roots was shriveled and blackened. They didnt adjust to the medium.

I was going to chuck him in the garbage but I changed my mind and just buried him with one of my other phals. I dont have to take care of him anymore, see? That's him on the bottom. I will take care of my other phal, which is happy and growing, and Stubby can continue to die as slowly as he likes :-) It works.

Default Update on Stubby

That is an interesting resolution. I grow seedlings in compots as these tiny plants seem to grow better with company. So why wouldn't that work for ailing, older plants? Good idea!

When they are totally rootless like that, mine have never rebounded.

I think I will always remember how happy Stubby and Swimmy were together. RIP Stubby!

I would be afraid that i may be transferring bad to the other plant. Believe me i hope it works. I have a little phal in icu with same problem. I put a little rootone on the remaining root.
