Default Dendrobium spectabile fertilizer

I feel that my plant is large enough to bloom this year. It had a nice sunny location outside for most of the summer. I used MSU fertilizer and will until the end of the month. I will reduce fertilizer in fall but should I add a bloom booster? Any other suggestions. Plant looks very healthy and new growth is at the edge of the pot. When should I transplant? Fir bark or bark chips...live in Ohio and need to watch overwatering in winter.

I have read differing opinions regarding fertilizing these in winter ... "bloom boosters" are fertilizers.

I have a not yet bloom size one - it always starts some new growth in late summer, so I care for out as usual all winter ...

I hope those who have bloomed this will chime in!

Thank-you ....the plant looks great and canes are almost

I also use MSU fertilizer and the only change I make to my spectabile is it gets less fertilizer during the winter because it gets less water at that time.

Repot when you have new growth.
