Bellina is "sweet"-scented, I like it the most too among the 3 mentioned. I am starting to lose count of my bellinas.

If only the bloom would number like 20 each time, I'd make perfumes out of them

I have a samera in bloom right now and a Bellina in bud. Having sniffed both I prefer the fragrance of the Bellina. It's unforgettable and has more of an intense citrus note accompanying the sweetness of the scent. My samera has three flowers open currently and you can smell it as soon as you step outside to my growing area. I'll post a pic eventually. Probably on its next flush of blooms I'll take pics with my nice SLR.

I think kaede is right, and don't forget the alba forms. Oh, and the blue forms. Or indigo. Or purple.

Fragrance is a very individual matter, in several respects:

1. Even though a species is fragrant, not all plants are equally so. I have had a Brassavola nodosa, that had no fragrance at any time.

2. No two noses are created equal. What is strongly fragrant to me, might be barely noticable to you - and vice versa.

NJOS had a speaker on fragrances several years ago. He passed around samples, and the differences in what individual people could detect was amazing. Also, what some found pleasing, others found indifferent or outright offensive.
