Trichocentrum cebolleta seedling: help!
Default Trichocentrum cebolleta seedling: help!

I have received a Trichocentrum cebolleta by the post. It took several days and it was completely dry, which I suppose for this species is not a problem. However I would like to know in what medium should I repot it? How often should I water it? I know it likes to be dry, but I don't know for this seedling... There is very little information concerning the care of this species.
The medium looks like a sort if wire? Maybe to prevent the medium from getting out and the roots are in sphagnum moss.

Since nobody answered I went ahead. If it works, this might help somebody else trying to grow this orchid. I left the bark mix soaking overnight. I rinsed the Leca pebbles several times with running water. I rinsed the pebbles, sphagnum, bark mix in Physan (2.6 ml/ liter). I prepared a solution if 1/4 strength in Volvic water (for all ingredients) KLN, Kelpmax and my usual orchid fertilizer and soaked the bark mix and sphagnum in it for 10 min. I squeezed the sphagnum moss.
The orchid: took all if the old moss out. Since it was quite stuck to the roots I did it in the Physan solution. The roots looked ok except for maybe two that I decided to leave in there.i rinsed the roots with water then I let the orchid soak for 5 min in the diluted fertizer/rooting solution for 5 min.
The pot: I put the Leca pebbles in the bottom of the outer pot and filled with water. I put the bark mix in the bottom of a pot used for "faisselle" (fresh cheese) which has slits on the side. Repotting: I partially put the

Sorry! I sent the previous message by mistake. Few errors slipped in!!
Repotting: I put part of the seeds in the bark mix and then I covered it with the prepared sphagnum moss.

Sorry! I did it again.
I meant, I put part of the roots in the bark mix and then covered it with the prepared Sphagnum moss. I will water it when the moss is dry. I also left a bamboo skewer to help me know if the medium is not dry enough.
I got a seedling of this orchid in a flask I got from Costa Rica. I had only one seedling! Since there was no information on deflasking this orchid I had to read a lot and put together all of the information
to deflask it. The procedure I followed with the grown up seedling is based on this. So far so good, my seedling has 11 days since I deflasked it and it looks good. If this works, I will post the complete procedure for deflasking this species.

It's a "rat-tail" type of Oncidium. It used to be called Oncidium cebolleta.

Grow in clear plastic pot with medium to large grade bark.

Bright indirect light.

Moderate to high humidity.

Intermediate to warm temperatures.

They grow as epiphytes in the wild. The growths are normally pendulous.

FYI, not many people know this orchid by Trichocentrum cebolleta. Trichocentrum are in the Onc Alliance.

Thank you very much for your advice. The thing is that this is a seedling but a seedling from a species that likes to be dry as an adult plant. The person who sold me the seedling told me that I had to keep it in sphagnum moss and I hate this kind of medium. This is why I tried to do a compromise with bark mix for the bottom of the pot and part of the roots and loose sphagnum to hold it and keep it humid. The Leca in the bottom provides humidity. I am guessing here. I hope it works!
Maybe I should have posted this message in the Oncidium Alliance forum?
