I agree, unpot them, cut off all dead roots, repot in bark, etc.

Thanks, for your advise. I have read "The Phal abuse ends here" and its being several years that I have not killed any orchids (finger cross)! And still I don't buy Phals and the ones I have are gifts or I end up getting them from family or friends that don't know how to take care of them. I usually get a call like this "my orchids is dying, the flowers are all droopy can you come over and take a look at it?" And then I end up with them, LOL. That means that most of them are NOIDs. So I guess that is why I haven bought any, I get themas hand me downs from other people

And yes I need to give this too Chids new media soon. Will keep you posted on how they do once they get the fresh mix.

Default Update on recues

So I got around to repot the two rescues over a month ago and here they are. They look happy and are putting new roots some you can see others you can't b/c of poor photography skills

I was almost tempted to go semihydro, I even got some leca. But did not want to loose the few roots they had. One had only two good roots and the other had only one.

I'll be adventures with the next rescue.
But so far so good!

Oh, and you can see were my cat took a nible of one of them. I thought about what to do with her, but alas she still alive a purring

Very nice, I see we are both the saving type.
I recommend you that for phalaenopsis use only this media recipe works like charm every time: 1/4 dried sphagnum moss 3/4 pine bark!!!(Only pine coconut usually get soaked with water and dissolved in no time) THE MOST IMPORTANT phalaenopsis NEED MEDIA EXCHANGE ANY 2 YEARS TOP BE LATE AND PROBLEMS WILL START IN NO TIME!
