Phal blooms fading on one side of spike only. Female
Default Phal blooms fading on one side of spike only.

Good morning!

I'm just curious if anyone can tell me why the blooms on my phal are fading only on the side of the spike closest to the window? It hasn't been in bloom too long, maybe about a month.

Quick history: This plant was purchased last year, has an excellent root system, is potted in a bark mix in a clear plastic pot with extra holes added by my husband's soldering iron. It bloomed for a good long while last summer, then I cut the spike back to the base, and it put out a new spike in the late winter/early spring.

We were recently on vacation for just over a week, and have no central AC. So I moved all my phals into our front room and left the window AC on low, just enough to keep the plants from getting overly hot. All were watered well before I left, and while dry when I got home, everyone was fine.

I moved this plant back to her place by my kitchen window (Wednesday night) and now the blooms are fading. Any ideas? I'm not worried about it, so much as curious.

**Not sure why the picture was rotated that way. It isn't on my computer, and I'm not sure how to fix it. Sorry.**
