I think that if we looked at the roots, they would show desiccation. They may even look a normal color but they may have been compromised and no longer absorbing moisture. That is why I would opt for a very humid environment instead. Every square centimeter of the surface of this is capable of absorbing some moisture. Especially the leaves. And that moisture can be humidity to an extent. Just laying this on some damp moss can keep it humidified until the newer pbulb can push a couple new shoots. Putting it in media right now may not create or keep enough humidity around the plant and further dehydrate it. I would put it in some damp moss and keep it inside some Tupperware with the lid only partially on if at all. Some nice bright filtered shade would benefit it also. Kept warm so the chemical reactions necessary for this to continue cell division would help. About 70-80 degrees would be appropriate. With few roots absorbing moisture, the moisture and sugars in the pbulbs are all that will keep this growing and eventually pushing some new growth.

Excellent! I ditto all of it. Poor thing is exhausted/depleted trying to just survive as it is right now. Lighten its burden in the ways James delineated!
