Default Mounted phal. Mariae keiki

This is my first ever mounting.
I am a beginner and i just mounted this phal.mariae keiki a while ago and its seems to be doing fine.lol.
I removed this from my phal. Mariae mother plant(the one that has 5 keikis) this is the only basal keiki and the other 4 spike-keikis are still growing.this keiki has 3-4 inch roots so i mounted it.
Its mounted on a fern tree slab.i lightly mounted sphagnum moss first for a little support and then i mounted the keiki.after that,i mounted a thin layer of sphagnum moss again just to retain some moisture on the mount.i used a thin thread that doesnt seem to hurt the roots gently.i like the thread because it is invisible and the mounted orchid looks naturally inclined...

Could you help me? I think i am doing something wrong here....?
Thank you!

Your mounted Phal looks good enough for me to try mounting one of my seedling Phals. Thank you for sharing how you did it.

rather than re-mount, just attach the small mount to a bigger mount when the time comes. You may have 2 years + growth to go before that becomes necessary.

It's not necessary to remount this to give it more room. The roots can and will hang down just like they do in nature. The mount is only to give it something to hang on to. If you wet the mount slightly, the roots may run around to the back of the mount and circle it eventually. I think this is a very good mount. Well done.

When I get back to my place in a couple months, I'll send a couple pics. Phals will put roots out everywhere. They aren't like vandas but they will hang roots down if space is limited.
