Default Change in lighting for September-December...problem?

I just found out my good friend will be staying with me from September-December which I am very excited about. However, she is in graduate school and will need the whole room- which means I will want to move the table of paphs and phals from that east facing window where they have been thriving. They are all putting out new roots now (with the exception of the two that are still blooming- I haven't repotted them yet) and growing leaves. So I have till early September to make the move. My only option unfortunately is to a west window. There is no overhang. I can put a sheer there or it has blinds. Temperatures will not be a problem- I keep my apartment cool in the fall and if it is warmer because of my friend I will close the vent in that room to control it there. I'm just wondering what the change in light will do at a sensitive time. That room is also where my two oncs will be (when they come home in a couple of weeks).

This is the first year for me that I've really tried to get reblooms. I've never really paid much attention to it before with the few noids I had and now that I've learned so much...of course I want them to spike and thrive! I know they may not all do so, but it does give me hope to see all of the new leaves and roots.

I think it should be okay, as long as you acclimate them to the new light. If you have a shade in that window, you can just open it for a couple of hours, gradually increasing the time that it's open, so the plants can adjust to the higher light levels without getting sunburned, then just use the blinds to control the amount of light they get while they're in this space.

I think that paphs like a bit less light than phals do, so if you can organize it so that the phals shade the paphs some, it should work out all right.
