This will work, cept I don't keep any cache pots. What I do when potting Phals in plastic, es the huge ones which bloom with dozens of flowers, is, place smooth rocks at the bottom of the pot.
Also, always right to stake the spikes.....longer and longer stakes as they mature.
But that Phal in the pic is trying to make a PHONE CALL.

I agree. Just the other day, cause I had omitted the stones at the bottom when I repotted one of mine now in bloom.....some would see this as unsightly, I don care....I put three stones on top of the mix opposite the direction the flowers were tipping the pot in.
