Default Question about pot size for dendrobium?

I received a dendrobium lindleyi and the potting media is in a bad way and needs to be replaced I know that dendrobiums like to be under potted the problem is that the pot is 4" and the only size above that that I can find is 6" is that going to be to big?

Thanks in advance

Yes.

4.5" pots are hard to find, but they're out there.

If you can't find 4.5", then look for 5" pots.

Use medium to large grade bark. These like lots of air going to their roots.

Thanks kingoforchidgrowin I found a 5 inch pot online and bought it just hope it gets here in one peace I've been thinking about potting it in grow stone which is just like lava rock so I don't have to disturb the roots that often and drys out quicker

Try it out.

That's all you can do.

If it works, it works.

If it doesn't, find something else that works for you.

By the time you trim dead roots out you may find it will fit back into the same 4" pot. I generally only go up a pot size when the pot has run out of room for new growths.
