Tellmewhy, your repotting looks good. Since you know the health of the roots, keep a good eye on this plant for humidity. I only have one Bulbo, it is mounted, and I think these flourish with regular watering. I am learning how to grow mounted orchids.

Based on what others have implied, perhaps when your plants get bigger, you can separate them? From growing Neofinetia, it is not acceptable to pass off a clump of plants as one specimen, if they were not originally from one plant--mother plant growing multiple fans or keiki.

Good luck and good growing!

If this is a Bulbuphyllym, then supply of 5 individual bulbs vs single plant with 5 bulbs is a major difference. Most Bulbos won't bloom unless the rizome is 5-6 bulbs long. In this genus, this would definitely be reason to take it up with seller.

However, it doesn't look like a Bulbo to me, and I don't think the species was ever mentioned.

Sorry I forgot to mentioned the name.
It's a Bifrenaria verboonenii I won from ebay auction.

Agree that Equagenera does not sell mounted plants. They are always in plastic bags or straight bare roots. I think it has to do with phytosanitation requirements, but I may be wrong.

Re 1x5 vs. 5x1, one large plant is almost always more desirable. Survival rate of single bulbs can be very low, so you lose one bulb after the other. With larger plants, there is more resilience.

I have seen this sort of agglomeration plant as well, from various vendors. Usually it is not anything I sufficiently worry about. For some plants, though, I make sure it is a single specimen.

One thing you can do with singletons is to grow them under different conditions to figure out what the plant likes. I do lots of this sort of experimental growing, and having multiples (I get 5 of any one type, mostly no-ID Oberonia) can help figuring out culture.

Interesting because I bought direct from them at a show when they came to the UK and they had lots of mounts and I bought a mounted one

I wonder if you are right about phytosanitation requirements and that might be different rules for them coming to the EU/UK rather than the US

Hold on guys...don't even know what kind of orchid it is! I've gotten plants from Ecuagenera-all mounted and some in pots from other vendors. Small bulbos for example will grow like this on a mount. Don't know why anyone would dismantle such a small plant. An ID would be nice.

Default Bifrenaria verboonenii

Hi everyone
It's a Bifrenaria verboonenii I got from Ebay.
I think they are just some seedling.
Here the link of the flower.

Ecuagenara does sell mounted plants-I've bought several when they were at shows I attended in NJ and Pa. Many more are sold bareroot tho.

I stand corrected.

My latest acquisition from Ecuagenera came mounted.

Wait... how are you all ordering from Ecuagenera directly? Do they ship?! Oh no... there goes my bank account!!!

As far as the original post, I'm not like these wonderful folks. I can't grow mounted plants unless it's in a terrarium. I have purchased several plants mounted and I always end up potting them because I cannot keep them moist enough. Your pot looks great!
