Of course you love them, James! They are as addicting as orchids!
Course, I was doing a take-off on the famous line from Godfather ONE (I have the 5 disk Godfathers box set) given the OP said her Phal was "swimming with the fishes"......in which, after the hit on the rat crew member who helped set Don Corleone up....the soldier who had just made his bones by doing the hit, was told calmly, "Leave the gun, take the cannolis.'

James, you deserve to own the 5 disk box set! One DVD is all bonus material...I only get the best editions of everything, those with the best bonus material. And, you can play all three in the trilogy within the box set using the commentary tracks!
What Coppola had to endure from The Get re Godfather I from the usual clueless suits....was staggering; you learn all of it in this box set. Alas, also, none of it is uncommon. Emblematic of how the business end within an arena often becomes the enemy of genius.
Also, too often, the orthodoxy per se.
Pls consider getting this; man does not live by orchids alone!
U bet....that line, one of the pithiest ever! The ultimate distillation of ICY!

You deserve to! And, now anxious, cause this is off topic, but if it helps, I only buy DVDs used but in good condition on Amazon or ebay. Very little money and never once had a problem with any!

addendum: Amazon.com: Buying Choices: The Godfather Collection (The Godfather / The Godfather: Part II / The Godfather: Part III)
As in all things, this involves a learning curve in making good differential decisions. I would not choose one listed as "acceptable," only beyond that, mostly used, very good. But amazing bargains can be had, I find them all the time!
Wish I could email you all of this box set....but uber geek that I am, that eludes me.

Stubby has graduated!
No more swimming for Stubby. He has graduated to a pot!
The new roots are resting on top of the sphagnum (yes, I went with sphagnum).
I was thinking about just misting the top of the sphagnum to keep it sort of moist, just to encourage the roots to grow in.
The bottom half of the pot is mostly packing peanuts, with an air tunnel that goes all the way up to the base of the phal. I worry less, that way.
And I set the whole thing back in the vase he was in, to keep the humidity up until he gets a good root system going.
Question: how do I water him now that he is in a pot? What would be least offensive to his new roots?

I would pour water through when the moss is dry. If you just mist the top the moss might only be damp on top and actually encourage roots NOT to go down, because they want to find moisture and that's only at the top. Just my

+1 Well, assuming he or she is not overpotted. They truly do love fine, fresh NZ sphagnum moss!!!

Is there any way to not be 'overpotted' with a phal that has 3 1-inch roots?
