Default Phal roots growing out of bottom of pot

I'd like to leave this alone as far as repotting goes because the roots and medium both look good from what I can see. Also I'd like to branch out to different media (had switched all my orchids to hygroton but have since added a miltoniopsis in promix and it seems to be doing well). I don't know what to do with the few roots growing out of the bottom of the pot tho...the one is quite long and healthy :-/
Any/all advice most welcomed!!!

I wouldn't mind but it makes the pot tippy once I took it out of the outer decorative pot. I don't care for the cache pots but since I already plan on adding additional air holes in the clear pot maybe I could just drill large holes in the cache pot as well? I prefer to let the roots photosynthesize but just unsure what to do....

Here you can see how it looks like on my 2 Phals. Not sure what to do, when the time for repotting come, I guess I'll have to destroy these pots to release the roots...

When you repot you could move them into slightly taller pots so there will be room for this root. Then again you don't necessarily need a taller pot, but you'll want to moisten the root before hand to lessen the likely hood of it breaking. I would think when you repot, you repot and it goes in the pot...perhaps the "experts" around here can help more...but my move would not to treat it specially, just pot it.

How detrimental would it be to the plant if I just snipped these roots? I'd like to avoid repotting for the time being because the medium looks good (to me) and other than these few roots it looks like there's still room for it to grow before it really needs repotting but until I do something it's in danger of tipping over...

I also have a Phal. with roots growing out of the bottom. Not sure what to do, when it's time to repot.

I just repotted three phals yesterday that all had roots growing through the bottom of their pots. I snipped them off. They had plenty of other healthy roots, so I'm not sure if it will have much or any effect on the plants. If they come to any ill harm, I'll post the decline, but I think that will be unlikely.

You can just snip them off. I would use a new single use razor blade. Then tab a little powdered cinnamon onto the cut end to cauterize the wound. It won't slow down the plant a bit.

I've done that with roots like this before when I'm not ready to repot and it's causing balance problems. As long as the rest of the roots are healthy I don't think it causes a problem to remove them.
