Purple color underneath phalaenopsis.

I got this pula for my birthday, the last bloom just fell off so I re potted using bark. This is my first orchid so I though the purple color was normal until I started reading about he causes so my question is is it normal or am I exposing it to too much light??? Also how do the roots look, does it have chances of doing well after repotting?
