Generally the key to hardening off seedlings are 3 things.
Slowly acclimate the seedlings from a high humidity environment to a lower humidity environment.
Slowly acclimate the seedlings from a low light environment to a higher light environment.
Protect from the harsh conditions of the outdoors.
Each seedling will behave differently, so you will have to be observant of them.
The acclimation process can take a few weeks to a few months depending on the seedlings.
Larger seedlings usually take a shorter amount of time to acclimate than smaller seedlings.
Treat any seedling under 2.54 cm (1 inch), with care, they are usually still delicate and do not acclimate quickly.
