From what I found doing an Internet search,it seems "lucky bamboo" doesn't need much fertilizer - a very small amount (very diluted) of orchid fertilizer is probably ok ...

I'm not sure if you mean lucky bamboo (indoor houseplant, really Dracaena sanderiana & not a true bamboo), or do you mean real bamboo?

The Dracaena sanderiana requires very little fertilizer, I have read that any water-soluble fertilizer at about one-tenth the recommended strength is fine, maybe provide this every 3 months or so.

Based on the plants in my back yard, true bamboo does best when fertilized with broken chunks of concrete, brick or rock, with frequent doses of neglect and scorn. Grows most vigorously where you least want it. Large patches growing elsewhere in my neighborhood tend to thrive after being bush-hogged and burned (returning back to 10+ meters high about 2 years later).

If it is Dracaena sanderiana, no, it does not like any fertilizer at all. That is the fastest way to kill it. Just water and it is fine. I grow mine in water gel beads and indoors, very low light plant.
