New Plalaenopsis Mariae Male
Smile New Plalaenopsis Mariae

So I bought a big Phalaenopsis Mariae that is P125 ($2.85) that has 2 flower spikes each with 2 keikis and a keiki beside it. It looked absolutely beautiful because when the keikis grow, I can have a total of 6 phal. Mariae's!!! 3 keikis have 2-3 inches of 2-5 roots, one has 2-3 roots that are 1-2 inches long and the last wich is only has 1-2 cm leaf span.

I bought it mounted on some kind of pine needle wood and clung on some moss it looked kinda bended like a U shape. Phals. In the wild usually grows upside down or side ways but this particular one followed the light and because of that, a long U shaped stem formed. I removed 2 dying leaves and left an old good looking leaf and 2 leaves that are new and another leaf coming out.

The phal is producing a new leaf, trying to grow 6 keikis, has many good green tipped silvery roots and is mounted.

From what is think the phal is not capable of having crown rot because the vendor waters it using a hose just pointing it to the orchid and just like that. Maybe it's because of laziness or because the orchid is high up.

I really need care instructions and tips on how to bloom and make this orchid healthy!

Thank you all so much!!! !!!

~Anthony~

Intermediate to warm, (60 F - 95 F).

Bright shade.

Moderate air movement.

Moderate to high humidity (60% - 90%).

May need a temperature differential between day and night and seasons to bloom once they are the correct size range for blooming.

Research where they come from in the wild.

I think the way the orchid is orienting itself is part of the reason why the orchid can be hosed down and not experience crown rot. The other reason may be that you're able to grow this orchid outdoors in the Philippines where it's warm and it has access to breezes.

If you have a pic you can provide that'd be great. If not, that's fine, I think I know what you're describing.

He's in the Philippines, that's why the price in US Dollars is so low.

Your orchid looks great. Even if its upside down right side up or even if it were to be sideways.... hehehehe just teasing ya.. But she does look good and healthy.
