Kari, I thought of you and this subject again yesterday afternoon when I was looking at a little rescue den. I bought last week, and lo and behold, stuffed waaaaay in at the base of the little guy planted in a coconut was something hard and white that wasn't a root...it was a tag hiding down in there, barely visible! I now know I'm the proud owner of a Den. Airy Blue!!

Sweet!! Just a heads up, looks Like you might lose some of those buds with yellowing at the base. (I hope I'm wrong!) The smaller buds nearer the tip look like they'll be okay, though. Enjoy that baby - congrats!!

No that is just the old leaf part. The roots and new leaves are great. Keep up the good work.

Just to clarify, I wasn't referencing leaves, but meant on the spike, where the buds meet the stem. That said, I still hope I'm wrong.

I think you are right. The buds with yellow stems will likely fall off, but the rest looks good.
