I agree with James. Leave it alone. If it was happy and healthy where it was why move it? Most plants do an amazing job of recovering once we get out of their way.

It's not a gonner, it's possible it can grow a basil keiki. It's not guaranteed, but it could.

I would just keep caring for it as normal and see what happens.
