Dens usually do new basal growth, so that is why one cane is okay per pot. And that container can be really small. The other new growth you mention are keikis. Some dens do that a lot, so new babies forming..easy new ones to increase the collection.
Yes the dens will rebloom when it is matured already. Some dens go deciduous in winter, losing all its leaves, they get their winter rest, and when Spring warm-up comes, may start making new blooms first before new leaves.
As long as you do not bury the Den too deep, get that other end a bit above the media and maybe stake it for support, then it should eventually grow roots to further support it.
Some do not use pots, they just mount it, works that way too.
