Phal is done for? continuing root rot

Hey guys :-) My one-root wonder has decided it's time to put out a new leaf.

I've been submerging it in the fish tank for 5 minutes every other day.

How do i convince it ROOTS might be a good idea? Silly plant. XD

Actually, what I meant to ask is, if it is now putting out a leaf, then can I expect some root growth here shortly?

The leaves are a factory where the energy is created to create the cellular product that will become roots and leaves. It is like a community. Leaves do a certain thing. Roots do a certain thing. As weird as it is, this is like trying to grow a person from an arm you found in a pot at lowes. It will take time. Keep doing what you are doing. Sounds like it is working. Have you gotten any kelp liquid? That contains a very good natural rooting hormone. First Rays has Kelp Max, which comes highly reccommended. I don't think there is any way to speed things up. You may be looking at five years till your first bloom. I mean, that is the reality of it.

I havent sprayed anything on the orchid. I have to keep it fish-friendly.

And I don't at all mind waiting 5 years for a bloom. Once you have kids, you realize 5 years might as well be tomorrow.

I could never be impatient about a plant.
