Question Black pin sized spots on my cymbidium leaves

I just noticed small black dots all over two of the plants in my cymbidium pot. Does anyone know if this is a fatal fungus or not. The bloom spikes appear unaffected by it.

Cyms can be prone to some spotting - it's not generally harmful, nor contagious . But, if it's quite heavily spotted, the may be an issue that should be addressed.

How are you growing / caring for this?

Photos are helpful.

SPOTS???!!!!! NOOOOO!!!! Say it ain't so!!!! (Hey!!! Pipe down back there in the peanut gallery you guys!!!) Ok. Where was I? Oh yeah. Spots. Could be any one of a dozen causes. Most of which are benighn. Benine. Benigne. Oh heck. Too big a word for me today. Anyway. Here's a couple of causes. Guignardia. Anthracnose. Get a systemic fungicide and use it frequently. Any more questions?

Thanks for the info. I assumed it was a fungus. I will treat it accordingly.
