Oh wow! Nice judith! Im just getting into orchids. Ive always known they were beautiful but once i bought one i was hooked. They r beautiful! I have them on trays of pebbles and water for humidity and mist them in the morning. Its very interesting learning about these amazing plants
Here is a link to the American Orchid Society webpage with cultural info for most common groups of orchids. Choose Cattleya from the list on the left. Cattleyas need to dry out more than Oncidiums and need a fairly open chunky potting media. They also have higher light requirements than most Oncidiums. But no need while it is blooming and introduce it gradually to more light after the bloom is done.
Hello does anyone know what kind of orchid this is. Species etc. Im having one arrive in the mail. And wanna look up culture sheets
It is from the Oncidium group. Looks similar to Odcdm. Catatante 'Pacific Sun Spots'. But Oncidiums have been so widely hybridized that if you don't have the name from the seller, it can't really be given one just on looks. There are thousands of Onc. crosses and a number that will look similar to this. Just give it basic Oncidium care.
Thanks guys!! Yea im gonna give it a try seems to be porous and woukd allow the same air flow as the terra cotta balls.
